This is what the eagle and raven were looking at and obviously it is looking at them. At first we thought this was a wolf because it is so big but after looking more closely we think it is a big, healthy coyote. In the one picture he is looking back over his shoulder at [...]

Eagles
The Bald Eagle is found only on the North American continent. Adult male eagles generally weigh about 9 pounds. Adult females weigh in at between 12 and 13 pounds. Adult eagles have a wing span of up to 7 feet. Immature eagles are mottled brown and white. The distinct white head and tail of the [...]
Blue Grouse
Here are a couple of pictures that Grandma Dora got of a blue grouse on our trip to Yellowstone on Friday. They are interesting to watch because they kind of burrow under the snow and then when the re-emerge they may come up 10 feet or so from where they went into the snow. They [...]
Yellowstone Adventure
We had one of the most memorable trips ever to the Park yesterday. We saw wolves, elk, buffalo, big horn sheep, eagles, coyotes, deer, ravens, redpolls, and a blue grouse. But the thing that made us stop and hold our breath was being right in the middle of a buffalo jam. We were headed back [...]
Quilter Cat
The boys were glad we didn’t go to the Park yesterday not only because of the winds that peaked at 81 miles per hour but also because the really like to help Grandma Dora with her quilting. They also help with the actual sewing and the pressing but more about that some other day. [...]
Got Wind???
We sure do. Gust this morning of 78 miles per hour with sustained winds around 60 miles per hour. High wind warnings or watches cover almost the entire state of Montana. This picture of Ruff may show the best thing to do today. Go to bed and cover your head! We even postponed our trip [...]

If you are like me and don’t really know what solar flares are you might want to check out this information from Wikipedia (http://en NULL.wikipedia NULL.org/wiki/Solar_flare).
Yellowstone Beckons
Finally, tomorrow or Wednesday we will be making a trip up to Yellowstone National Park. It’s been over three weeks since we’ve been in the Park and we are going through withdrawal. Yellowstone has a “pull” that you can’t imagine if you’ve never been there. The song “Left My Heart in San Francisco” is nice, [...]
McKenzie and Carolyn
Dearest Carolyn and McKenzie, Your great-grandmother Moore’s phone number is 573-592-0717. She would love to hear from you. PS Please let the phone ring 10-12 times as your great-grandmother doesn’t move too fast. Love you both.
Spring is in the air!
Another beautiful day here in paradise. It feels like spring is in the air after the cold temperatures we’ve had for a few days. Just hope the spring showers don’t make the flowers think it’s May! Here’s a picture of Livingston’s Main Street with Livingston Peak in the background.
