Higher Ground in Yellowstone National Park

Do you remember the words of this old, stand-by hymn:

“Lord, life me up and let me stand by faith on Heaven’s table land, a higher place that I have found.  Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

This picture was taken a week or two ago a short distance inside the northeast gate of Yellowstone.  We had been visiting our friends in Silver Gate and this view always takes our breath away.  They may have had an additional 6-12 inches of snow last night with more predicted for today.  Our winds over night did not materialize but winds up to 80mph are still predicted for today.  And, we are definitely on higher ground and at the end of the street where we get lots of wind.  So, as our weather forecaster out of Billings warned – we need to put rocks in our shoes!  We’ll definitely need to do more than just hang onto our hats!!
