With the summer tourist season just beginning, I wanted to post a link to this page of the Yellowstone National Park web site that deals with safety while viewing wildlife.  These videos may be shocking so watch them yourselves so you can be prepared to keep yourself and your family members safe.  I personally would not show these to children.

I think the message is, always have bear spray even when you are in developed areas like Mammoth Hot Springs and Old Faithful.  And, always look around and see what wildlife are in the area.  When Grandma Dora saw these videos, she thought of the many times she walked past bison while working at the Old Faithful Lodge never really realizing how quickly they can move.  And, we all love seeing the elk at Mammoth, but who would have thought one might charge the entrance to the Terrace Grill!

Be very, very careful so you and your family enjoy your visit and have a wonderful experience.
