We want to say thank you to firefighters everywhere. Many, many acres have burned in Montana this summer, but the destruction would be even more catastrophic if not for the commitment and sacrifice of these brave men and women. Thank you.

Bears and Wildfire
Bears This will take a bit to upload, but the ending makes the wait worthwhile. Two different sources sent the attached bear video. This little clip is fun, but carries a good message. When in bear country, dispose of your trash in either bear proof trash containers or be sure to close the garbage lids. [...]
Olympics
I remember when the Olympics were about sport – not endorsements and market share!!
Quilt
Grandma Dora is starting an art quilt class tomorrow and is having trouble picking her “subject”. We would appreciate hearing which of these photos you might think best. It should be a fun 4-week class!
Hot Summer
Mom and Dad were married in August of 1936 (so you can do the math and see this picture is a bit old!), a summer as hot as this one!
Somewhere Over the Rainbowe
“I believe for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows!” We got about 1/4 inch of rain yesterday and about 8pm last night saw this brilliant rainbow. It was actually a double rainbow but the other was a little too faint to show up in the picture. Lasted a long time, too. What [...]
Christmas in July
Well, at least that’s what is was around our house this weekend. Dora got into a Christmas mood (she remembered that seasonal employees in Yellowstone celebrate Christmas on July 25). So, here’s what she did. Ninety degrees outside and we’ve got Santa arriving!! These things would drive me crazy, but Grandma Dora really enjoys [...]
Bears

Thread Art
Enjoy Grandma Dora’s “thread art”. She’s just started but is having a lot of fun with it! We sent the “flowers” to Mom today and the grizzly still needs some pine trees and additional ground cover before it is completely finished.
Yesterday’s Fire
Yesterday at 1pm someone accidentally started a grass fire 12 miles south of town. It traveled 4 miles and burned over 1,000 acres before the crews and a slurry bomber stopped it. Hopefully some cool, wet weather will arrive soon.
